Hello Debra. The easiest way is to snap the grommets apart and recycle them. Then you can reuse the straps and you can reattach the cover using a new set of grommets. We don't recommend trying to reuse the grommets as they can come apart and go through pool equipment. They are designed to be broken and then replaced when you change the cover. Hello Andrew, Yes our reels can support up to 1000 pounds the issue isn't weight it is clearance. Contact our team at info@rockys.ca and they can make a recommendation for you based off the size of your pool and the thickness of the cover you are hoping to use.

The clear covers typically generate more heat but they let some of the UV spectrum through which can cause chemicals to evaporate at the surface of the pool. We have found that the blue covers provide the most savings on both water and chemicals as they block more of the UV spectrum. That being said any cover is better than no cover. Correct, you want to avoid damaging the threads. Make sure you are using a punch that fits into the concrete anchor without touching the threads. You want to ensure you are hitting the slug in the bottom of the anchor and not the threads when you set it. Also If you need to use a hammer to get the concrete anchor flush you should only be lightly tapping it in. You don't want to hit it hard and mushroom the top of it with excessive force. the easiest way to remove the anchors if need be, is to thread a bolt into the anchor and hit it with a mallet so it gets loose and then pull it out. We will post a how to video sometime in the near future.

No you don't have to use the concrete anchors our portable systems now all come with locking wheels so they are able to be operated without being anchored. That being said some bigger systems might move slightly and require a second person to help stabilize the other end if you are only using the locking wheels. @@RockysCanada I still prefer it to be secured/anchored to the concrete to prevent any mishap from uneven deployment. (Bad experience) Had an older reel rip a liner from it sliding in. Bad bad day. Can this be secured or not and does it come with a system to secure it to the deck?

Our systems all have our positive anchoring system included with them as well as the locking wheels. That way pool owners have the option to secure the reel to the deck. We highly reccomend using the Anchors as it esures a predictable roll and makes it so one person can operate the reel without having to worry about the possibility of it moving.

The material is a fiberglass weave that is an inch and a half wide and then it is coated with a Vitex vinyl coating to ensure that it lasts in wet environments.
